Datafolk is a cultural
intelligence lab.
We build the computational layer between cultural systems and digital experience. Not a service. Not a dashboard. An instrument.
Most experience systems treat culture as ornament — a translation pass, a localisation step, a regional skin over a fixed flow. The result is silent: identical interfaces produce divergent outcomes across regions and segments, and no one can explain why.
Datafolk treats culture as a structural property of the system. Measurable. Continuous. Causally linked to outcome. The work of this document is to state that thesis precisely and describe the operating model that follows from it.

§01 — Why Datafolk exists
The gap is structural.
Experience systems treat culture as ornament. As localisation. As a translation pass. The result: identical flows produce divergent outcomes across regions and segments, and no one can explain why.
The gap is not analytical, it is structural. There is no measurable cultural variable inside the experience stack. Without one, intervention is intuition and improvement is anecdote. Datafolk closes that gap by introducing a continuous, computable cultural quantity into the system.
Implications
For operators — a causal lever on outcomes that previously moved without explanation.
For the field — a shared variable on which interventions can be compared, replicated, and disputed.

§02 — What we build
Cultural Intelligence Systems. ClEx as the measurable output.
We build Cultural Intelligence Systems. ClEx is the measurable output: a continuous score that maps the user (U) and the experience (E) as cultural vectors and isolates their divergence.
The score is not a survey. It is computed deterministically from observed signals at session resolution, weighted by context (CF) and modulated by meaning resonance (MR). It is the variable on which interventions are proposed, accepted, and validated.

Cultural intelligence is routinely confused with adjacent practices. The distinction is operational, not rhetorical: a different unit of analysis, a different output, a different way of being wrong.

Evolutionary thesis. Each stage compounds the next: applied work feeds synthesis, synthesis feeds discipline. The model is not a roadmap of services; it is the structure under which cultural intelligence becomes a recognised research field.
Direct engagements with operators. Cultural intelligence applied to live experience systems. Outputs: ClEx baselines, intervention sets, deployment evidence.
Cross-engagement signal aggregation. Theory built from observation, not the reverse. Outputs: published research, models, public methodology.
Cultural intelligence as a recognised research field. Standards, education, and certification. Outputs: ratified frameworks, curriculum, third-party validation.
No stage exists without the one before it. Theory without engagement is performative; engagement without synthesis is consultancy; synthesis without institutional form is ephemeral.
